Political Cartoon

                This political cartoon was painted by Jim Borgman, in 2003. The picture or paint has two guys, maybe two young guys. One of them has graduated and the other is a military, both have a diploma in one of the hands. And the theme of the picture is: “I figure it’s easier to find a war than a job these days”. This phrase is said by the military guy. 

            We can have two interpretations with this drawing and the phrase. First we can see or understand how a student who was in the university four to five years studying, went out looking for a job and couldn’t find one, because he didn’t searched correctly or because now a day you  can find war in the street, people fighting like animals, discussion… Guns; causing every of type problems and that is enough to know that the war is in any place. When you go out of the university to find a job, you have to be aggressive, determinate, have courage, but be a real person who has patience, because people fight for everything, this world is a disaster. You have to fight to be someone, or to have money in this days,

Another interpretation is that: you study for many years, and I enroll in the army and win more money, and faster and easy money; I just have to be in service. Many people prefer the war than have a normal job, I can’t understand that, is so stupid. With this painting we can understand how life is so difficulty to progress, to be someone. Finally just the life is a war and I think that you have to fight to survive.
